Honestly I like this book a lot ... It is the kind of book that I could fall in love with. I'm into the characters and feel connected to their personalities; Which is amazing! The thing that stops me from falling deep into the book, is that the book is not smooth reading. The author, while an amazing writer does to much wording. Her descriptions to give the readers an idea of what is in sight, consist of words that Could be made simple. Don't get me wrong while reading a sentence you should understand what the unnecessary word means or your able to look it up in a dictionary; but you shouldn't have to do this the whole book. It was like she went to a thesaurus to make simple words sound more smart. And if she would not have focused so much on the thesaurus words, she would have caught her simple mistakes. Anyways love the storyline I have to finish this story, have to know how Mina and the freaks story end; so I'm going to grab my dictionary. -__- Hopefully I won't need it to make sure the word I think it is, is correct.Tags : The Vanished (Blemished) (Volume 2) [Sarah Dalton] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. “I wanted to live. The Vanished Blemished Volume 2 Sarah Dalton 9781481863391 Books Reviews
Although I hate the trilogy concept, I dud, very much, love this series. Well written and believable, strong characters! Well worth readibg the entire series. Just wish these authirs wou,d write "one" good, lengthy book instead of breaking it into three.....but I guess authors must eat, too. Worth the expense!
Good continuation but at times the wri ry ing was immature and inconsistent. I got somewhat tired of,the trite drama between Minnie, her dad, Angela...i have a hard time reading a series in which I don't care for most of the characters. Coupled with the inconsistent behaviors and writing, I will probably stop here because I dont care what happens next
Sarah Dalton has crossed over the Hunger Games, and Divergent to create a rich and impressive European dystopian series. Readers from 10 to adult will enjoy the development of story line and characters as they follow the exploits of Mina, a blemished citizen of Area 14. You will be intrigued with the GEMs and their society as well as the Blemished and those who are outcasts of society, simply because the refuse to conform to it's demands. An intriguing read.
I became engrossed in the first book as much as this second, so of course I bought the third. Mina goes through so many emotions in this book and at the end she is left bewildered. I cannot give details away as I am not a spoiler. However, as an adult I enjoyed these books and know my son's will as well. The second book was just as good as the first and the third does not disappoint either. Enjoy the book and do not forget to read the last one!
This continuation of Blemished picks up right where we left off. Mina's character has the wisdom of a hard life coupled with the fickleness and brashness of youth. The author has put together an interesting world. There are some small issues in the climax with clarity of the plot lines. And some overall questions, where is technology, gasoline, the rest of the countries of the world? Where is the technology, airplanes, etc? Still a really great read.
This is the second book in the Blemished series. It is packed with action and problems to deal with. Readers who read the first book already have come to care about the characters and as challenges arise, we worry and hope these characters can cope with and overcome them.
I finished this book and right away ordered the 3rd book, which I am reading now. I got another book by a favorite author and had to read that before the next Blemished book If you read Blemished, you won't be disappointed with Vanished.
Mina's story grabs you from the very beginning and holds on tight. I had some issue imagining the Scottish brogue a few of the characters had but it didn't make the book impossible to read. That's the only real issue I had zooming through the first 2 books in the series. If you like the Young Elite series, this has a similar feel to me.
