Excellent book! It's a veritable "how to" manual covering how to manage your life once you're out on your own. The workplace advice was absolutely spot on, as was the advice on knowing how to fix a flat and jump start a car. The latter is especially important, simply because you never know precisely when or where you're going to be in a situation where you car won't start, and you need to know what to do! There are, however, one or two topics that should have been included that were not, and that's the only reason that I didn't give the book five stars. The first deficiency has to do with the fact that there is absolutely no mention of what needs to be done in order to protect oneself against sexually transmitted disease and/or unwanted pregnancy. It seems to me that that is something that EVERYONE needs to know about once they are "grown up." For that reason, a section on contraception and safe sex would have been worthwhile. Also, I would have expanded the advice on networking to include advice on joining civic, fraternal, and religious organizations. Being active in such groups can also greatly expand one's social and professional network. Lastly, a least a modicum of relationship advice should have been included, covering topics such as the prevention of sexual assault and sexual harassment. Overall though, it was an enjoyable read...........very thoughtful and well-written!Product details

Really good read. Has some very useful tips on some things you need to know as an adult
Excellent read; wish I had this when I graduated college. Will be buying several copies of this book to give as graduation gifts!
Great and simple format. Should be a must gift for all graduates. I'm buying a 2nd copy for my niece.
This is a a well written and very practical guide to things everyone needs to know when starting out on their own. I loved the format which makes the book easy to read and easy to reference in the future. The career section is something anyone who is working should read periodically. I will give this book to all graduates as they enter the workforce. I also will strongly suggest my company buys the book to supply to any intern or new college graduate hires during the on-bording process.
It looks like it's has a lot of valuable information for my son who is now on his own!
This book pretty much sums up what you should know in life. Of course some things you already know how to do are in there, but its good to get a second opinion on how things should be done.
